“We're going to bomb them back to the Stone Age!”
— B-2 Spirit

The B-2 Spirit is a strategic bomber of the United States Army.

Gameplay[]

B-2 Spirit is a slow but tough stealth bomber that brings widespread destruction to whatever it hits, further augmented by the possibility of damage and countermeasures upgrades.

Created with the utter purpose to destroy, B-2s deal extreme amounts of splash damage on a linear path. They can be used to great effect when it comes to attacking enemy targets or to destroy those coming in a specified direction to ruin an attack. One is already enough to nearly clear a fully-occupied Bank, and a few could ensure its complete destruction to deny the enemy income. With both stealth and great durability, B-2s are an exceptional choice for attacking locations that are difficult to protect such as distant outposts and refineries, being unlikely to be shot down before engagement without an extensive defense network and stealth detection in advance, while destroying the toughest buildings in a few runs. Both its damage upgrade and countermeasures mesh extremely well, buying it time for an approach and to unleash more carnage.

A promising unit when used well, B-2s are however confronted with several major weaknesses. Unlike its equivalents from other factions and in a similar fashion to the X-32, B-2s do not have any defensive weapons to protect themselves from enemy air units. This problem becomes especially apparent with its slow speed, giving enemy units plenty of time to destroy it before it can even attack, be it a large swarm of missiles from Pantsir/Blazer or autocannon fire from Otomatic. While it is the most durable aircraft for its role and has stealth, enemy Air Control Centers' detection range and the aforementioned tactic render these completely irrelevant, and so its protection is far from perfect. Usually, the presence of friendly air superiority fighters like F-22 Raptor are necessary so it can survive until it makes to the target, and even then it may also need assistance from ground units to eliminate enemy defenses that could engage it before attacking. B-2s also have a crippling price tag, little in credits but a massive aluminum cost alongside rare earth, which also exists for the upgrade that makes it effective, since US Army has no way of obtaining these outside of exchanging POWs and mining them. Nonetheless, B-2's raw power still makes it an appealing choice for what it can offer as a single unit.
