The Chimera is a multinational task force created by the United Nations with the original purpose of providing intelligence and military support for the investigation into the Shanghai Crash. This UN-led organization's arsenal consists of many foreign military equipment. They are superior to the U.S. Army, but inferior to the Cartel in technology.[1]

Trivia[]

  • The Chimera is the counterpart of the Task Force Talon from Act of War, as both are special task forces with access to relatively advanced technology that at one point operate in tandem with the United States Army. They are, however, beaten in tech at times by the antagonist faction, namely the Cartel and Consortium respectively.
  • The faction's name is fitting as the organization itself and arsenal are of mix of foreign origins.
  • During development, the Chimera was originally conceived as a special unit of super soldiers organized by select members of the United Nations, under the placeholder name 'Tererra'[2] (a modification of the French word 'terre', meaning 'earth').
