The Patriot is a superweapon base defense of the United States Army.

Gameplay[]

Patriots are well-rounded defenses for their purpose. They have air stealth detection, offer a lot in anti-air and have a decently high capacity of 4. They can later enjoy an overall boost to their defensive effectiveness, allowing them to keep up with the pace.

The US Army isn't any short on anti-air options due to their access to MG Nest upgrades, the Blazer, F-22 Raptor and Stinger, all of which range from decent to excellent when at their respective roles. While the Patriot adds very little to what they already have here, they carry the ability to counter enemy tactical weapons in combination with their devastating airspace domination. Though their sight range is limited, they can attack aircraft at extreme range and whittle down helicopters as they approach. It benefits especially from the presence of an Air Control Center to locate enemy aircraft at range, and considering several are often built to maximize its effectiveness, Patriots can often destroy anything that flies, cutting through even countermeasures to get things even. Additionally, its interceptor missiles have a relatively low refill requirement, taking only some Credits and a small quantity of Rare Earth Elements that's worth one prisoner exchange at the Field Hospital, so when used strategically they can be topped up at all times to snipe down superweapons that are worth a lot more.

In terms of weaknesses, Patriots are in the better leagues of structures and generally have little to none. Perhaps its major flaw is its power consumption, without which it is as good as it's useless. Indeed, the US Army has many options for expanding their power supply, but the overall cost begins to skyrocket as multiple Patriots are established. They also require meticulous placement in order to maximize their potential, as they can be overwhelmed in spite of their sheer power and it isn't easy to reposition once deployed. Their own upgrade, while indeed worth the cost with the huge improvement, is just as expensive as the Patriot itself and must be purchased individually. Nonetheless, Patriots are always an amazing and welcoming addition to any base with their destructive capabilities.
